This was a great book! My Daughter and I had fun reading it together. We laughed at the silly rhymes and she loved figuring out the Who am I's. She got them all but one. The descriptions and detail in the riddles were very well put together. I loved that she was able to figure out what they were, from the detailed description.The rhymes in this book were fantastic! We reread it focusing on just the rhyming of the riddle's and thinking of other words that rhyme with the sentence. We had lots of examples to choose from and lots of laughs all while learning new rhyming words.
I love that there was more than just one activity we could do together with this one book, and she loved it! I would defiantly recommend this book.

Such a clever book with great illustrations!!
What a wonderful book to read with a child.
I really enjoyed reading this book to my nieces and nephews. What is especially great is that the answer to the rhyme had a corresponding picture on the back of that page, so it is easy to locate. I recommend this book for grades 1 through 3. Although, my daughter reads it to her 4th graders at the end of the day and they enjoying trying to guess which each riddle is. All of the illustrations are bright and colorful and the text is easy to read. Since each line rhymes, it would be easy to make a list or a chart of the rhyming words and see how many pairs of endings will rhyme within the story. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who is looking for a book to each their child or student how to rhyme.
Lines That Thyme is a fun book for children ages 6+. It isn't too long or wordy which makes it perfect for younger readers to read alone. But, it is more fun to read together and try to guess the answers to the rhymes. It is only 24 pages which makes for a great story time bedtime read. The collection is a variety of fun rhymes on different subjects and my son enjoyed guessing what the answer and illustration would be on the next page. He also likes that the poems aren't too long and wordy. They usually are about 8 sentences. It is a good book for children and the illustrations are also quite fun! I easily give this one 5 stars! I am looking forward to more children's books by this author.
I like the Riddle game from the Hobbit. And I just read a children's book that reminded me so much of it that I was instantly transported, Lines That Rhyme by Mark Tepper. This is a lovely little book full of rhymes describing an object. Read it along with your children and see if they can guess what's being described. Each object is revealed in a colorful picture on the next page. I sat with my daughter and read through the whole book as she tried to figure everything out. The best part is that there's no evil little being sitting there waiting for you to get one wrong and eat you.
Lines That Rhyme is perfect for story time with your little one, beginning readers that are working on or savvy with rhyming words, and classrooms trying to reach the art of rhyming. The possibilities of sharing this treasure are endless. I look forward to reading Mr. Tepper's next installment ... my daughter does too!
This is the kind of book I loved to read to my boys when they were young. It made them think and gave us plenty to discuss and talk about. It has the added benefit of making them think of ordinary things in a different way.
Thoughtful and wonderfully written book of poems designed to make a child think in a fun guessing game kind of way. From trains, to flowers, to ice and even the stars in the sky, Tepper has something interesting to say about it, and he says it beautifully. Each poem is between 6-8 carefully worded sentences designed to make the reader guess the subject. Tepper does not speak down to children, and his clever stanzas have a delightful cadence. A great book for new readers, it will hold their interest with the lyrical prose. My favorite-"Don't get too close, don't stop to linger, if you look really close, I have a big stinger."
